More details about Disney’s Moana

Walt Disney Animation Studios revealed plans today for Moana, a sweeping, CG-animated comedy-adventure about a spirited teenager on an impossible mission to fulfill her ancestors’ quest. In theaters in late 2016, the film is directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (The Little Mermaid, The Princess and the Frog, Aladdin).
In the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania, Moana, a born navigator, sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore.
“John and I have partnered on so many films—from The Little Mermaid to Aladdin to The Princess and the Frog,” said Clements. “Creating Moana is one of the great thrills of our career. It’s a big adventure set in this beautiful world of Oceania.”
“Moana is indomitable, passionate and a dreamer with a unique connection to the ocean itself,” Musker said. “She’s the kind of character we all root for, and we can’t wait to introduce her to audiences.”

Oh Billy, you look so small right there…

Superman’s sheer anger over Billy Batson’s situation is a sight to behold. Batman and Robin get away with it because he knows it’s the world’s best internship and that Bruce is willing to put out all the stops to protect him. But Billy? He doesn’t have anyone looking out for him. And that pisses off Superman more than anything.

Seriously, Clark’s face here

He is ready to kick the ass of whoever put this boy in this situation SO HARD

Next page he really lets the Wizard Shazam have it.

Shit, son. I might have to buy this book for those last two panels alone.

When Superman is written well he is an amazing goddamned character.

these few pages are some of my favourite in comic book history. So good. For anyone wondering what the next few pages look like, here you go:

This is a bigger deal than some of you might think, because Superman is one of the heroes in the DC Universe who keeps his secret identity pretty damn secret, because as probably the most powerful and influential person on earth, a lot of people do not wish him well - and would jump at the chance to hold people dear to him as leverage.

Yet, he trusts this poor, scared little kid. To comfort him, and entrust him with his biggest secret - just as Billy did for him.

Superman is just really important, ok?

this for people to truly understand superman

Anonymous: "Rewatching the street fight between Steve and WS, WS actually had a lot of openings to kill Steve but didn't. At one point he's holding Steve up by the neck with the metal arm, then throws him away. Like he recognizes an opponent who's equal for once and wants to draw out the fight because he enjoys it. Like Bucky's line "Pick on someone your own size!" He still enjoys a fair fight! I love how aspects of his personality show through in WS & I wonder if he fought more than just Steve's bullies... "
kehinki:

"Put on the suit."
“Pick on someone your own size!”

They both like a fair fight. And as much as people write WS as helpless and w/o personality, he has one. When Natasha shot his goggles, he was genuinely pissed off, and that’s why he went after her, not because it was the best strategic move. And he shot randomly onto the causeway; so although he doesn’t purposefully kill non-targets, if he’s angry, collateral damage is a non-issue.

Pierce also seemed used to WS’s meltdowns, so I imagine he has quite he history of Bucky breaking through (questioning orders or remembering maybe, a la “I knew him”). He’s clearly not helpless as he’s highly trained and managed to steal clothes, sneak into a museum, and invade authorities.

And the way he ripped apart Sam’s wings was pretty savage when a knife to the jugular would’ve sufficed. And he jerked Steve around a lot too, as you mentioned. It’s like sometimes he enjoys playing with his food. Enjoys the adrenalin, the control, the bit of freedom to lash out maybe.

One of my hens attempted to crow this morning.
I didn’t realize it at the time. No, my immediate assumption was that something was brutally murdering one of my birds. I rushed to the rescue only to find the yard conspicuously empty of threats, but I didn’t relax until that awful rasping caw came again from my right.
Here she is compared to another black bantam I got at the same time as her. Her comb and wattles are huge, but I just kinda disregarded it because those two aren’t the same breed even though they’re similar looking. Shouldn’t have, that comb is almost rooster-sized regardless of breed differences.
Just wanted to share, I figured Tumblr would get a kick out of a non-binary chicken.

Years ago I had something similar happen. In the early spring a batch of mixed breed chicks hatched (all I can remember is that they were 1/4 silkie) as the months passed and the chicks grew and their sex characteristics developed, all hens… sort of.
One bird, a petite black hen, started crowing, by the fall she was crowing just as well and often as the roosters we kept in the coop. But it didn’t stop there. During the winter I noticed this hen exclusively roosting with other hens, not that odd, but then one day I saw her mounting them.
When we let them out off the coop to free-range in the spring she had a small harem of other hens. They would follow her, “mate” with her, and only roost next to her, and, if a rooster antagonized her or her harem, she would spar with him (not always successfully).
So remember, if anyone tries to explain away non-binary identities with a “Natural Order of Things” argument, flap aggressively at him and try to stab him with your leg spurs.

nonbinary chickens are pretty common! Reason #89574897345 why I fucking love chickens.

Imagine if Breaking Bad was set in Canada or the UK or Australia. Walt discovers he has lung cancer, is promptly treated at no cost and discharged with no financial burden apart from $20 in subsidised prescriptions. The end.

hmm. it’s almost as if Breaking Bad might have been trying to say something. Who knows, though
